Court Postpones Judicial Review For Taman Rimba Kiara Development

The judicial review of the development at Taman Rimba Kiara (TRK) park, Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) has been postponed after the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) requested for a postponement of the hearing.

“DBKL’s basis for requesting the postponement is to allow time for the parties to the action to pursue discussions towards a mutual resolution of the matter, on a without-prejudice basis,” said TTDI Residents Association.

It revealed that the solicitors for developer, Memang Perkasa Sdn Bhd and Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan (YWP) did not object to the request, reported The Edge.

“We understand that the postponement of the hearing has been allowed by the court, and therefore the scheduled hearing will not proceed. We will provide details of court instructions in relation to the further conduct of the matter when these are received.”

In June, the Save TRK group and the RA filed for a judicial review of DBKL’s development order.

Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh had also filed a case against landowner Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in May.

Memang Perkasa’s proposed development on parts of TRK land will see the construction of 42- and 54-storey serviced apartment blocks as well as a 30-storey affordable apartment.
